1. General
This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application Almost (the “App”) collects, uses and protects information about its users.
The App is designed to help users build more mindful spending habits, track impulsive purchases, set goals and visualize savings progress. The App is not a banking, financial or investment service.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
2. Data we process
2.1. Data you provide directly
We may process the following information that you enter in the App:
- name or nickname;
- selected language and currency;
- goals and wishes (title, target amount, emoji, etc.);
- descriptions and amounts of potential purchases and your refusals;
- profile settings including gender/form of address, behavioral persona, spending habits;
- your estimated monthly “small spending” amount used to calculate potential savings;
- logs of “free days” and other achievements;
- in-app game state (levels, internal coins, virtual pet state and similar elements);
- photos or images you upload as an avatar or goal illustration (if such feature is enabled).
2.2. Usage data
To operate and improve the App, we may process:
- in-app actions (taps on “save”, “thinking”, “spend”, adding/editing goals, etc.);
- statistics on refused purchases, goals, free days, challenges and rewards;
- high-level information about how you interact with the interface (which sections you open, which features are used more often). Some of this data is stored locally on your device only; some anonymized usage data may be sent to our analytics provider only after your explicit consent.
2.3. Technical data
We may also receive limited technical information, such as:
- device type and model;
- operating system version;
- App version;
- crash logs and diagnostic information (to improve stability and fix bugs). Crash and diagnostic data may be processed by a third-party error monitoring service.
3. Anonymous analytics and consent
By default, extended analytics is disabled.
Before enabling anonymous analytics, the App will show a consent screen allowing you to:
- agree to share anonymized usage events; or
- decline and continue using the App without analytics. Anonymous analytics does not include:
- your full name;
- card, account or payment details;
- personal contact information;
- your free-form notes in raw form for advertising purposes. You can change your choice at any time in the App settings by disabling analytics collection.
4. Subscriptions and One-Time Purchases
Almost offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions and a one-time Lifetime Premium
purchase.
Payments are processed securely through Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not store or have access to users’ full payment information.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Users can manage or cancel subscriptions in their App Store or Google Play account settings.
Lifetime Premium is a one-time purchase that unlocks premium features permanently for the account used at the time of purchase.
4.1 In-app currency and game mechanics
The App uses a virtual in-app currency (coins) earned through actions in the App (refusing purchases, completing challenges, unlocking rewards, etc.).
- Virtual currency is not real money.
- It cannot be exchanged for cash, goods or services outside the App.
- It cannot be transferred to other users. Data about your coin balance and game state is stored together with your profile data and used solely to support the in-app experience.
5. Legal basis for processing
Depending on your jurisdiction, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract – to provide the App’s core functionality under the Terms of Use;
- Your consent – for example, when you enable anonymous analytics or specific optional features;
- Legitimate interests – such as improving the App, monitoring performance, preventing abuse. You may withdraw your consent (for example, for analytics) at any time in the settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing that has already taken place.
6. Data retention
- Core user data (goals, wishes, refusals, internal coins, etc.) is stored locally on your device using local storage.
- Anonymous analytics and diagnostic data are stored by our analytics and monitoring providers for reasonable periods required for analysis, in line with their retention policies. Retention periods:
- local data – for as long as the App remains installed, unless you delete it via settings or by uninstalling the App;
- analytics and logs – for the time needed to analyze and improve the App, according to the providers’ policies.
7. Sharing data with third parties
We may share limited data with:
- an analytics provider, to understand how the App is used and to improve it (using anonymized events);
- an error monitoring provider, to detect and fix issues and improve stability;
- public authorities, if required by applicable law. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. However, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- access, update or correct certain data via the App;
- reset or delete local data via the App’s settings (if available) or by uninstalling the App;
- request deletion or clarification of data that may be stored in analytics systems, where applicable. To exercise these rights or ask questions, you can contact the developer at:
10. Children’s privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available via the corresponding link in the App. By continuing to use the App after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Policy.
